CAREER OPORTUNITIES IN BC FOR FOREIGN TRAINED PHYSICIANS AND PHARMACISTS
Ms. Karimah Es Sabar, Senior Vice President, Business and Strategic Affairs at the Centre for Drug Research and Development, spoke to a group of foreign trained physicians and pharmacists on career opportunities in BC's growing research and development sector.
British Columbia is the seventh largest biotechnology development centre in North America by number of companies, and the fastest growing in Canada. It is home to world-renowned research institutions and to three of Canada's largest and most successful biotechnology companies QLT, Angiotech and Aspreva Pharmaceuticals.
Ms Es Sabar stressed the importance of networking and making linkages within the research community. Attendees were encouraged to access resources like Life Science BC where, as a member, individuals would have benefits such as access to job postings, conferences, tradeshows and key stakeholders.
