Advisory Committee

The Client Advisory Committee is a group that will provide feedback regarding client surveys, organizational strategies and documents.

The Client Advisory Committee has been formed to enhance MOSAIC’s inclusion of clients in dialogues concerning service delivery. Though it does not possess any decision-making powers, the committee’s concerns, opinions and perspective will be incorporated at various organizational levels.

Paola was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in social communications and journalism, she ventured to Vancouver in 2004 as an immigrant and urban explorer.

Once in Canada, Paola’s completion of a certificate in international development gave her a solid understanding of the patterns of human migration and resettlement difficulties, and how a social support system can help immigrants overcome cultural and social barriers.

Having worked to create inclusive programs, build cultural relations and advocate on behalf of marginalized communities, Paola was motivated to join the client advisory committee to share her knowledge and ideas to improve and enhance the inclusion and integration of newcomers, residents and citizens into Canadian society through MOSAIC’s programs.

Today, she is working in social services providing information and referral to community resources for her clients as well as interpretation services when needed.

Her desire to help and assist new immigrants adapting into the Canadian systems, as well as her strong sense of social justice, made her consider being a member of this Advisory Committee where, through her personal experience, she could positively infuluence MOSAIC's services.
