POSITION
FUNCTION: |
Under the direct supervision of
the Director of Settlement Services, the Manager will be
responsible for the overall coordination of the Metro
Immigrant and Refugee Services Consortium (MIRSC) programs.
The Manager will manage and
supervise MOSAIC settlement workers, work with settlement
services staff and other MOSAIC staff; MIRSC and co-location
agencies, community organizations and institutions to develop,
implement, and evaluate settlement program, including labour
market information, in particular in Burnaby, New Westminster,
and Vancouver areas.
The Manager
will ensure appropriate budget, policies, procedures, practice
standards, job descriptions, performance evaluation, reports,
data base and resource materials for the MIRSC and MOSAIC
Settlement Program, are developed and maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS: |
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other areas
in humanities, or Education of High School completion and
diploma in appropriate area, such as business
administration, community development, community Social
Services, and volunteer development.
-
Excellent knowledge of settlement services, program
management, staff supervision and training, and community
development practices and programming with an emphasis on
capacity building and coordination.
-
Excellent program management and community development
skills, excellent communication skills, excellent
organization skills, strong computer skills, proposal
writing and reporting skills.
-
Possess a working knowledge of standard office equipment and
software applications (word processing, database, and
spreadsheets, e.g. WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, PowerPoint).
-
Highly organized, able to motivate and provide strong
leadership to staff and consultants.
-
Experience working with immigrants and refugees from diverse
ethno cultural minority communities
-
Ability to dialogue individual client and community issues
to funders and community partners, as appropriate
-
Fluency in a second language and car ownership are
considered assets.

WORKING
HOURS: |
Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, optional flex day
schedule. Work locations in main office (Vancouver) and
off-site offices (Burnaby/New Westminster).

POSITION: Employment Counsellor

POSITION:
Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the
Employment Counsellor provides assessment, planning and referral
services to clients of the ArriveBC program.
The Employment Counsellor’s role will be to:

Become familiar with the program proposal and the contract, and
understand his/her role in achieving the goals and contractual
outcomes.
-
·Assist
in the process of client recruitment and ensure a suitable
referral system is developed and implemented for unsuccessful
clients.
-
Work with ArriveBC clients to develop an appropriate action
plan.
-
Make referrals to suitable training where appropriate.
Perform routine follow-up activities e.g. updating and
maintaining client records, providing on-going client support,
and inputting data.
-
Ensures that client and program records are prepared and
maintained in the format prescribed by our partner or the
departmental standard.
-
Keep the Coordinator regularly informed on client progress and
achievement of outcomes. Maintain and provide statistics on
client progress in the format prescribed.
-
Maintain an excellent working knowledge of local labour market
trends, and current business sector protocols and procedures.
-
Attend and take an active role in participating in departmental
and all-staff meetings, including team meetings and case
conferences.
-
Undertake other duties, as requested by the Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or diploma in counselling or education and/or
appropriate combination of training and experience.

Employment counselling and/or client assessment experience an
asset.

Strong interpersonal, presentation and written and verbal
communication skills.
-
Cross-cultural counselling abilities an asset.
-
Proficient in word possessing, the Internet, and email.
CONTRACT: This is a full-time (35
