English for Construction

MOSAIC English for Construction class is a FREE language course

In this class, you will learn to use English for use in construction trades.

This course is for you if you:

  • Are working or are interested in working in the construction trades
  • Are unemployed or underemployed (part-time or in a job below qualifications)
  • Have intermediate English
  • (CLB Level 5 in Listening and Speaking and CLB Level 4 in Reading and Writing)
  • Would like better job prospects in the trades
  • Are a Permanent Resident,
  • Can commit to the full length of the program (not a full time student)

You will learn how to interact with your coworkers and supervisors while on a jobsite.

You will also be able to:

  • Understand instructions
  • Effectively take part in meetings
  • Communicate confidently and appropriately with different people on a jobsite
  • Have opportunities to interact and network with Construction employers and experts

Schedule

The English for Construction class requires face-to-face time as well as online study to be completed each week in MOSAIC Online Classrooms.   

Class starts November 9, 2015 to March 17, 2016 (with a winter break) and runs:

Monday

5:30 – 8:30 pm

Wednesday

5:30 – 8:30 pm

Online study

3 hours / week
