Multicultural Clinical Counselling Program

MCCP will help you learn to understand and cope with problems and challenges.

MCCP provides counselling for people from multicultural backgrounds who are experiencing stress and anxiety, including concerns resulting from integrating into Canadian society. Counselling can help you to reduce stress, have healthy relationships, and improve your sense of well-being. You can learn how to cope and increase your ability to manage everyday situations.

We offer help on a variety of issues, for example:

  • Stress and coping
  • Grief and loss
  • Depression and mood swings
  • Panic and anxiety
  • Abuse and trauma
  • Relationship conflicts
  • Divorce and separation
  • Anger management

What is Clinical Counselling?

Counselling takes the form of conversations between the client and the counsellor. This is a collaborative process in which the client discusses concerns, problems and challenges. The counsellor's job is to help the client to understand and to explore the choices available and to consider new possibilities.

When your counselling has been successful it will feel like something has changed, or something is different. You may feel more hopeful and greater self-confidence. You will try out new behaviours and approaches. You will also likely notice that you are having different results in your interactions with people. In the end, you are the one who makes the decision about whether counselling has been successful.

Who qualifies for this program?

If you are struggling to manage your problems, are anxious and want to improve how you feel, reduce your stress level, resolve crises and increase your ability to cope, this program may help you.
