This pamphlet explains what to do when it is suspected that a child is abused or neglected. It covers the following topics: what is child abuse or neglect, who to call to make a report, what is the role of the child protection social worker, what is a child protection investigation, when does this investigation begin and how long does it last, what is the outcome of this investigation, what if the child needs protection and what are parents entitled to. It also tells how and where to get more information and help.
