A site where community workers and newcomers can find legal information and community resources in their own language

About Us

The Multilingual Legal Website

The Latin American Community Council and MOSAIC, in partnership, have implemented this online multilingual legal resource to provide comprehensive and critical legal information in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese to Canadian newcomers and community workers. This project aims to contribute to the legal education efforts previously undertaken by several community agencies by accomplishing the following objectives:

  • to promote legal education through increasing public awareness of the law and justice systems in B.C.;
  • to help improve accessibility and use of legal and law-related materials to both the legal profession and the public;
  • to help community workers and settlement practitioners in B.C. provide essential basic legal information to new Canadians with limited knowledge of English;
  • to ensure the relevance of the posted legal information and educational materials through periodic consultation with community groups and the advisory committee; and
  • to enhance broadcasting of legal education and information produced in languages other than English.

This website includes publications selected through community consultations in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (simplified and traditional), English, French, Korean, Persian, Punjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese.

It is our intention to continue adding more publications in these languages as they become available. We encourage community groups and agencies interested in sharing their translated documents to contact us.
