Demonstration Project for Immigrant and Refugee Seniors

A pilot project designed to provide settlement services for older adult immigrants and refugees over the age of 55.

Through various activities, the Demonstration Project for Immigrants and Refugee Older Adults provides social and learning opportunities for immigrant and refugee adults, starting from 55 years of age. The project encourages their participation in community events, provides assistance in filling-out applications, delivers workshops and presentations, organizes field trips to local attractions, and more. We are now offering yoga classes, English as an Additional Language classes, conversation groups, and computer training for seniors. The project staff and volunteers do home visitations to hard-to-reach immigrant and refugee seniors.
