How to Apply

Are you interested in volunteering at MOSAIC? The following guidelines will help you take the steps to do so.

Helpful Hint: If you are an immigrant or refugee and this is your first volunteer experience in Canada, we recommend you attend our Volunteering in Canada workshop first. After that, if you decide you want to volunteer at MOSAIC, follow the steps below.

Step 1. Visit www.govolunteer.ca to view volunteer positions currently available at MOSAIC. Once you are logged on:

  • Click on the “Volunteer Opportunities” link

  • Type “MOSAIC” in the keyword-search box

Step 2. Complete the Volunteer Application Form. You’ll need Adobe Acrobat’s Reader to view data in PDF format. Don’t have the Reader installed on your computer? Click the icon below for a free download.

On the application form, please indicate which volunteer position you are applying for. You may only apply for the positions listed at www.govolunteer.ca.

Helpful Hint: In order to ensure you succeed in your volunteer position, we have established basic requirements for each position. Please read the requirements carefully and apply for the position that best suits your interests, skills and availability.

Step 3. Interview with the Volunteer Program Co-ordinator and/or Program staff to learn more about the program and your role. Please note: You will be asked to provide the names, addresses and phone numbers of two people who can act as your references, as well as the name and information of an English-speaking emergency contact.

Step 4. You may be asked to complete a criminal record check. We will provide all the necessary forms and explain the steps to you clearly.

Step 5. You must complete volunteer orientation and training, which may include an informative orientation session and/or on-site training.
